About Us
Pie in the Sky
It all started back in ‘98 when Colin, Bonza’s fearless founder swapped the rolling hills of meath for the beaches of Perth and was handed a pie. As the aussie sun burnt his nose and the pie burnt his mouth Colin wondered why the Irish had been deprived of this down-under-delicacy. He stayed in Australia for 7 years of fun in the sun, sampling pies and even starting his own little Aussie-Irish family.
The 7 year itch set in and Colin finally decided he was ready to bring himself, the family and the humble pie back to Ireland. He immediately went to work turning this pie in the sky idea into reality. On the first tasting the finished product, the two lads thought their pies were “savage”. Emma, Colin’s Aussie missus, translated this to “bonza” and the rest, as they say, is history.
Bonza Pies have been making proper tucker since ‘09 and have opened their first pie shop in the Ilac.
